Our Story

Interpreta Nutrition is a nutritional science and food regulatory affairs consultancy established by Catherine Dignum and Helen Rose. We work predominantly with food industry and public sector organisations.

We are both Registered Dietitians whose work experience includes clinical practice, research, working in the food industry and the UK government department responsible for food policy. We have successfully held managerial posts, including Nutritional Science Manager, Clinical Trials Manager and Regulatory Affairs Manager, for an international, world-renowned medical food company.

We are both experienced at managing projects that use our broad knowledge of the regulatory and nutritional implications of formulating food products. We have led and collaborated extensively with multidisciplinary teams including professionals from marketing, regulatory, research and health care.

Having worked individually as freelancers we pooled our collective talents, honed over a combined thirty years, and set-up Interpreta Nutrition. On a wide range of projects, Interpreta Nutrition has established a reputation for delivering creative solutions to its briefs and providing high quality outputs on time and within agreed budgets.

How does a Dietitian differ from a nutritionist?

We are both Registered Dietitians with the Health and Care Professions Council, and can be trusted to use the most up-to-date public health and scientific research on food, health and disease and translate it into practical guidance. Dietitians are degree-qualified and are the only nutrition professionals regulated by law and governed by an ethical code to ensure that we always work to the highest standards. The HCPC keeps a Register of health and care professionals who meet their standards for training, professional skills, behaviour and health. Only those registered with the HCPC can use the title of Dietitian/Registered Dietitian (RD).
